Who We Are

We are blessed to live in a small community that still has a variety of all-year-round activities for young and old. Curling is a classic Canadian activity and one of the few winter sports available to most of us. It can be played by young and old, and is a great source of exercise and enjoyment during the short cold days and long dark evenings of our Valley winters!

It is a sport that you can play gently or with lots of energy – the choice is yours. And, no, you don’t have to be fit or very flexible to play – we have lots of options for people of all abilities, ages and elasticity!

One can play once a week (a game is typically 1.5-2 hours) or as many as five times a week, in the mornings or in the evenings. And the price is very reasonable for the hours and entertainment achieved. We even have free equipment available for beginners and those that just “want to have a go”. Curling is a hugely social game, both on the ice as well as in the clubhouse bar afterwards.

Our season runs from the beginning of November to the end of April and is divided into three “draws” of about two months each. In addition to the normal draws for four different time slots per week, we also have “fun curling” at the weekends for the more occasional curler, for those that have family visiting at the weekends and want something to do, or for any companies/organizations that want to challenge another one for domination on the ice! In the fall, we also have curling lessons on Sunday afternoons and we have youth (elementary school) curlingthroughout the season.

A big thank you to all our sponsors, members and friends for all their support this past year. Our little community needs thriving sports and recreation centres like ours. Please consider taking up or returning to curling next season. We guarantee you will love it! Enjoy the summer without ice!

We look forward to seeing you at our Open House on October 28 and to see you out curling in the 2022-2023 season! It’s a super winter activity with both fun and exercise on offer.
